On the secon day, my brother dropped us off at Fremetle after sending my nephews to school. We went about the city on our own

Frementle Train Station.

Just outside of Fremental Train Station., there's a free Frementle CAT bus service that took take us around the city. However we hopped onto the bus,got a free city viewing tour, then stopped just after the Esplanade Hotel and walked over to the harbour front for lunch at the famous Cicerello’s first.

Cicerello’s sells freshly caught seafood including oysters, mussels, crabs and crayfish and chips wrapped in butcher’s paper...no cardboard boxes or plastic plates here

tis electronic device that they give out to us...so we can go out to enjoy the seaview instead of waiting around at the counter. Once the food is ready, the device will beep and we can collect the food.

This chili crab taste exactly like the chili crab from Singapore. The crab flesh is firm & sweet...two whole large crab in the bowl ,also lots of large mussels here.Cost AUD38.90.. Worth every cent of it.

The Fish & Chips and Chili crab portion is huge..we can barely finish it

enjoyed our Fish ‘n’ chips right on the water’s edge on Cicerello’s huge boardwalk. The boardwalk seats and tables are made of century old jarrah salvaged from the original jetty. The boardwalk is the perfect place to take in Fremantle’s famous Fishing Boat Harbour, to watch the bobbing boats!

Fremetle Market

After a satisfying lunch, we went to the Fremetle Market. There were many unique stalls incluing one that sells little purses made out of Kangaroo's skin.

This Fresh Food market at the back of Fremetle Market. Many Asian stalls here selling fresh fruits & vegatables...also some bread & pastries stalls here

Town Hall

E-Shed market. nothing much here. Lots of mass-commerical touristy items. Prefer the Frementle Market.

Grab a plate for AUD7.90...and pile up your plate with as much Chinese food as you can!

After some tired walking, we boarded the CAT bus for another a free tour of Frementle!

Frementle CAT info board

The Frementle CAT took us to this beach called South Beach. This is the stop at the very end of the route at South Frementle. We didn't plan to come here initially but we were sitting next to the bus exit door, so we just jump off the bus to "discover".

Nice antique car we saw at roadside

Saw this very old building.. but don't know what it is...hahahah

P&O hotel at High Street

<--Frementle Harbour as seen from the Round House

Round house

The Round House is the oldest remaining building in Western Australia. It was built as a gaol and was the first permanent building in the colony.
It was built in 1830 - 1831. The Round House had eight cells and a gaolers residence which all opened up into a central courtyard.
Bay whaling was carried out from Bathers beach below the Round House. As part of the whaling operations a tunnel was constructed under the Round House to provide whalers with access to the town from the jetty and bathers beach.
When the first convicts arrived in 1850 the Round House was inadequate to house them so the convicts built a new goal which was completed in the 1850's and continued to be used as Fremantle prison through until 1991.
The Round House was not used as a prison when, in 1886, convict establishment became the responsibility of the colonial government. Instead, the Round House was used as a police lock-up through until 1900. It then became the living quarters for the chief constable, his wife, and their ten children.
After a whole day of Fementle walking in the cold pre-winter winds... we got hungry again. Fang wanted to go back to eat the chili crap again. However instead of Cicerello’s..we decided to go Kaili's...just to compare..since both restaurants claim they have the best Fish $ chips.

Lobsters @ AUD24.95 each--------------------------->
I made the mistake of ordering the chili crab in Mild Sauce instead of the normal Spicy one. The Mild sauce is simply the same as a pasta's tomato sauce. Not nice at all! The dish is simply boiled crab with the pasta sauce poured over it before being served. The crab isn't even warm when served. The Cicerello’s chili crap was piping hot at time of serving. Maybe the Kaili's Spicy chili crab would be better. However the fish & chips @ Kaili's about the same as Cicerello’s
